If you use our online catalog to check our library’s collection, the user interface has changed to Verso by Autographics. You can now not only check our collection but also what is available in other Vermont libraries. You can modify your patron information and renew your checkouts online as well. The difficulties that most patrons are encountering are these:
1 – logging in to a patron account
2 – searching for items on the online catalog
3 – renewing items checked out to a patron account
Here are some helpful hints and instructions:
1 – When you first attempt to log in to the online catalog, you must use the default password that the site assigned to all patrons. That default password is userpass. The system will immediately require you to change that default password to one of your choosing, one that is unique to your patron account. Once you have established your account and can log in and out easily, you will be able to view and change your patron information such as telephone number, email address, etc. You will be able to reserve items from our library – just be sure to check at the library to see if the item has been retrieved from our shelves and is being held for you. You will also be able to renew items – see #3 below.
2 – Patrons have come in and asked for a book that they found in the online catalog but cannot be found on our shelves. How does this happen?? If you search the online catalog before logging in to your patron account, the search results will show items in libraries throughout Vermont. When you log in to your own account (thus establishing that you are a Moore Free Library patron) and then search for a book, the search results will only show what is in the Moore Free Library collection. You can change the search parameters to include other Vermont libraries by tapping on the cylinder-like icon to the left of the search well and clicking the box labelled CLOVER (=Collaborative Libraries of Vermont)
3 – Do you have a bunch of items checked out and you want to renew them? You can do it! Once you are logged in to your account, click on the little arrow to the right of your name, click on Items Out and then click on Renew Item.
